What your resume score tells you

The score is a quick summary of the checks in your report, not a verdict from every applicant tracking system. Use it to see where your resume is clear, where software may struggle to read it, and which changes deserve your time first.

A useful report should point to evidence. Wilbo looks for ordinary problems that affect real applications: text that does not extract cleanly, sections a parser may miss, duties with no measurable result, and skills that are hard to connect to the work you have done. It does not reward keyword repetition for its own sake.

What this ATS resume checker reviews

Wilbo checks whether screening software can read the file and whether the experience inside it is stated clearly and consistently.

  4. 4

    Revise and rescan

Work through the strongest opportunities first, then scan the new version to check your progress.

Make your resume easier for an ATS to read

Applicant tracking systems collect applications and extract details such as job titles, dates, employers, education, and skills. A resume does not need to look plain, but its important information should still make sense when read as text.

Use a structure the reader can recognize

Keep core sections under familiar headings such as Experience, Education, and Skills. Put dates beside the role they belong to, use a consistent order for employers and titles, and avoid placing essential details only inside graphics, headers, or footers.

Write evidence, not a list of duties

Strong bullets explain what changed because of your work. Name the action, the setting, and the result when you can do so truthfully. A number helps when it adds context, but a clear outcome is more useful than a forced percentage.

Match the role without stuffing keywords

Use the language of the job description when it accurately describes your experience. Spell out important tools, methods, and qualifications in context. Repeating a phrase without evidence may satisfy a crude count, but it will not persuade the person who reads the application.

The scan is free. Applying is Wilbo's job.

Wilbo scouts fresh postings that fit your profile, writes each application, and submits once you approve — with a receipt for every one.

Resume scanner questions

Is the Wilbo resume scanner really free?

Yes. You can scan a resume without creating an account or entering an email address. Daily limits keep the free tool available for everyone.

What does ATS mean?

ATS stands for applicant tracking system. Employers use these systems to collect applications, extract resume text, organize candidates, and search for relevant experience or skills.

Which resume file types can I scan?

Wilbo accepts PDF, DOC, and DOCX files up to 10 MB. A text-based PDF or straightforward DOCX usually gives screening software the cleanest material to parse.

What does my resume score mean?

The score summarizes the checks in your report and helps you prioritize improvements. It is a diagnostic guide, not a universal employer score or a prediction of whether you will be interviewed.

Does this ATS checker guarantee my resume will pass?

No. Applicant tracking systems and employer processes vary. Wilbo checks practical readability, structure, section coverage, and whether the evidence in your resume is clear, but no scanner can guarantee an interview or a particular employer outcome.

Is my resume private?

Wilbo replaces identifying details such as your name, email address, and phone number with placeholders before the AI that writes your report reads your resume. The privacy policy explains data handling and retention.

Does the scanner detect AI-written resumes?

No. The scan focuses on whether the resume parses cleanly, communicates credible evidence, and gives a reviewer useful information. Edit every suggestion so the final document remains accurate and sounds like you.

Will a high resume score get me interviews?

Not by itself. Hiring also depends on role fit, experience, timing, the applicant pool, and employer judgment. A stronger score means you have addressed more of the issues the report can identify.
